Nymo for iOS
Support
Nymo adds translated nicknames to your contacts and helps you clean up duplicates. If something isn’t working, or you have a question the answers below don’t cover, email jben.lang@gmail.com and you’ll usually hear back within one to two business days.
Contact
Email is the fastest way to reach us: jben.lang@gmail.com. It helps a lot if you include your iOS version, the Nymo version (shown at the bottom of the app’s settings), and a short description of what you did and what happened. Please never include your contacts’ personal details in an email — a description of the problem is enough.
Frequently asked questions
Nymo says it can't access my contacts.
Nymo needs permission to read your address book. Open the iOS Settings app, find Nymo, tap Contacts, and choose full access. If you granted limited access, Nymo will only see the contacts you selected.
How do I undo changes Nymo made?
Every edit Nymo makes is recorded in a change journal on your iPhone. Open the app’s history and you can undo any nickname it added. Changes sync back through whatever contact accounts you already use (iCloud, Google, Microsoft), so the undo appears on your other devices too.
A translation looks wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes — nothing is written to a contact until you approve it, and you can edit a suggested nickname before accepting it. If a translation is consistently wrong, we’d love to hear about it by email so we can improve it.
Nymo flagged two contacts as duplicates but they're different people.
Duplicate detection is a suggestion, never automatic. Simply skip the group and Nymo won’t merge or delete anything. The optional “Get AI opinion” button is there for exactly these borderline cases.
Does Nymo upload my address book?
No. Everything except contact display names stays on your iPhone, and names are only sent when you explicitly start a translation or ask for a duplicate opinion — nothing is ever stored on our servers. The full details are in the privacy policy.
How do I delete all data Nymo has?
Delete the app. Nymo keeps its cache and change journal only in the app’s private storage on your device, and our servers store nothing — so removing the app removes everything. Note that nicknames you already approved are part of your own address book and stay there unless you undo them first.
Translation or the AI opinion isn't responding.
Both features need an internet connection, since the selected names are translated by the Nymo service. Check that you’re online and try again; if it still fails after a few minutes, it may be a temporary outage on our side — email us and we’ll look into it.
Feature requests and bug reports
Nymo is built by one person, and reports from real use are what shape it. If you hit a bug or wish it did something it doesn’t, send a note to jben.lang@gmail.com. Every email is read.
Privacy
How Nymo handles your contacts — what stays on your iPhone and the one thing that doesn’t — is documented in the privacy policy.
